Relax with your family after the Amashovashova at the best accommodation available

Back to "what to do in Durban"

Are you looking for the best accommodation available on the weekend that you cycle the Amashovashova? Then book this date.

The Pick & Pay Amashovashova National Classic Race takes place on 21 October 2007.  It’s South Africa’s third largest race.

With humble beginnings in 1986, the Amashovashova Pick & National Classic has grown tremendously with over 9000 riders in the last race.

The Amashovashova has much in common with the Comrades Marathon.  It also starts outside Pietermaritzburg’s City Hall and immediately tests your ability to conquer the hills, separating the “men” from the “boys”. Fortunately the hills start while your legs are still fresh.   Once the Fox Hill climb is over the rest of the route is a big descent.  The Amashovashova Race is one of the local great classics, it’s great fun and excitement.

Here’s an idea worth considering…make it a fun, family, week-end.

Make Casa Playa your anchor for the week-end.  Casa Playa is a luxurious, self catering apartment situated on Umhlanga main beach.  It’s only a 15 minute drive to the Elangeni Hotel where the buses leave for Pietermaritzburg.  With four bedrooms and bathrooms we have room for your family, friends and supporters.

Casa Playa is ideally situated on the Umhlanga beach front with restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.  Take Friday and Saturday to laze around on the beach or if you feel more energetic take the kids to uShaka Marine World. It’s Africa’s largest Marine Theme park and you’ll find there’s ample to do. From Shark cage diving for the adrenaline junkies to snorkeling with a variety of marine life, the options are endless.  The water slides in “Wet & Wild” are always a firm favorite with the kids. Whatever your mood, there’s something to choose from.

Fire up the weber, crack open an ice cold beer and enjoy the Indian Ocean views with your friends and family.

Avoid disappointment. Book your Amashovashova weekend accommodation now.
