The MTN Durban Fashion Week 2009
The Durban Fashion Week, now in its third year, has established itself as a vibrant fashion platform for top South African designers to showcase their collections. Furthermore, after three years, the MTN Durban Fashion Week has positioned itself as the place for new and emerging fashion designers to showcase their couture talent.
It is a show well anticipated by the country’s top established designers and couturiers as the Durban Fashion Week identifies new and upcoming designers, creating the perfect environment for these emerging designers to woo top designers and the public fashion lovers with unthawed talent, natural flair and enthusiasm.
This year’s show will include top fashion designers like Lindiwe Kuzwayo, Gideon and others from all over South Africa including designers who had their roots in Durban like Gavin Rajah, Craig Native and Malcolm Kluk. This glamorous fashion event is further infused with a fresh line of new designer talent who will showcase their innovative collections.
The MTN Durban Fashion Week will take place on the beach at the Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World in Durban from 27 June 2009 to 30 June 2009; however dates will still be confirmed. An exclusive designer expo will complement the Durban Fashion Week simultaneously and was specifically incorporated during this time to offer other players in the Fashion industry an equal opportunity of exposure. This designer expo includes suppliers of fashion accessories and manufactures of trimmings who will exhibit their products and services. Unique to this designer’s expo is a fashion boutique where the designers who are showcasing at the MTN Durban Fashion Week will showcase their ranges available for sale.
