Gauteng visitors to our shores will probable know about (or have attended) Joburg Day – an annual event featuring South Africa’s top music acts. Well, did you know that we have a Durban Day too?
Yes, Huawei Durban Day takes place on Sunday the 23rd of October at People’s Park and will feature eight of South Africa’s top musical acts. The day – which is hosted by East Coast Radio – promises to be a highlight on the summer calendar for the entire family.
About People’s Park
People’s Park is part of the award-winning Moses Mabhida Stadium complex which was constructed for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The stadium played host to seven games in that tournament including a semi-final. It has received 27 awards for design, construction and more and is SA’s most utilised stadium.
The park itself was designed with families and people who love life in mind. It boasts a fantastic Café with free wifi and superb food, rolling green lawns, trees, fountains and enough activities and space to get the blood pumping.
Enjoy Durban Day
The line-up includes favourites like Locnville, Kyle Deutsch, Beatenberg, TIMO ODV, Matthew Mole, AKA , Nasty C and Freshly Ground. There will also be a ‘Be-the-Band’ act which should be highly entertaining. These are undoubtedly SA’s hottest acts right now and any one of them alone could fill a concert venue – never mind all of this talent in one venue on one gorgeous day!
So if you’re going to be in town over the weekend of October 23rd, head to People’s Park for Huawei Durban Day from 10h30 and enjoy some of the best music and entertainment South Africa has on offer. Tickets are available through computicket.com and cost just R200 per person. (Early bird tickets may still be available for R120 http://goo.gl/GRyPQ5)
