The Durban July has been a landmark event in KwaZulu-Natal since 1897. It is one of South Africa’s greatest horse racing events and it’s also a fantastic opportunity for local fashionistas to see and be seen. The Durban July is full of food, fashion, racing, betting and so much more – a real glitzy affair that is not to be missed!
The 2016 event will be held on the 2nd of July at the usual location, namely the Greyville racecourse. The for this year’s event is “The Leader of The Pack” and attendees have already been encouraged to dress up in their finest clothes so we predict that it’s going to be another show-stopping event this year!
Last year’s Durban July theme was “The Captain’s Table” and approximately 55 000 people attended the event. Last year, the Greyville racecourse was transformed into a catwalk, with many people showing off couture outfits and fancy hats. While you can always watch the racing events on television, there’s no substitute for the real thing so be sure to make your way down to Durban for the 2016 Durban July!
